YA Lit!: Home

An overview of young adult literature and the NPC collection.

What is YA literature?

Young Adult or YA Literatature is generally described as literature that is written for, or appeals to, readers aged 12-18. However, authors and readers of "young teen novels" often define it as written for those aged 15 to the early 20s.

At NPC we believe that YA lit is for everyone!  Do you want a fast read, or just a break from the norm?  Try something in our YA collection.  Fiction is shelved in a dedicated section under Library of Congress cataloging numbers PZ5 to PZ10.

YA non-fiction is shelved throughout the collection in the appropriate section.

Ask at the front desk if you are having trouble finding the Young Adult Literature.

At NPC we try and have a good mix of

classic young adult literature as well as new, hot titles.

If you don't see a title that you would like to read,

pick up a book request form at the front desk and we'll let you

know if/when the title is purchased and ready for check-out.
