FAQs: Library Computer Lab
Answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs), policies and services at NPC Library.
The computers in the library are all available to students wishing to perform online research, create documents, or check their e-mail. Users must abide by the campus IT Acceptable Use Policy. There are currently 25 seated stations available on a first-come, first-served basis. There are also a few laptops available to check out for in-library use only. The laptops will connect to the campus Wi-Fi, but do not have printing capability. If you need to print a document, you will have to log on to a seated workstation.
The library lab computers will print to the shared “LibraryCopy” printer in either black & white or color and will print either single-sided or double-sided. Please review the default print settings before each print job to avoid unwanted prints. (There is a recycle bin near the printer to collect waste paper.)
Students are awarded $50 print money on a PaperCut account at the beginning of each semester. Printing is $.10 per page for non-color printing and $.25 per page for color printing on single-sided prints; double-sided printing is $.08 per page non-color and $.20 per page color. If you need more print money, you can purchase $5 or $10 PaperCut cards at the library information desk to replenish your PaperCut account. You can also purchase PaperCut cards at the bookstore. PaperCut money does not carry over from one semester to the next. All printing is subject to NPC Printing Policy (view policy here).
