The computers in the library are all available to students wishing to perform online research, create documents, or check their e-mail. Users must abide by the campus IT Acceptable Use Policy. There are currently 23 seated stations and 3 stand-up stations (for catalog searches and quick research only - no printing). The computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There are also a few laptops available to check out for in-library use only. The laptops will connect to the campus Wi-Fi, but do not have printing capability. If you need to print a document, you will have to log on to a seated workstation.
Yes; however, preference will be given to students during periods of high demand. A librarian will log you into a computer as a guest for short-term use. (If you are a community patron interested in long-term use, please ask a librarian for more information.) Guest patrons will be charged ten cents per page for all documents printed. All users must abide by the campus IT Acceptable Use Policy.
There is no color printer in the library. If you must print a document in color, save your document on a flash drive and take it to the NPC Computer lab. (Also see “How can I save a document if I don’t have a flash drive?”)
Students are awarded $50 print money on a PaperCut account at the beginning of each semester. Since the library printers do not print color, printing is $.10 per page in the library. (Where color printers are available, color printing is $.25 per page.) If you need more print money you can purchase $5 or $10 PaperCut cards at the library information desk to replenish your PaperCut account. You can also purchase PaperCut cards at the bookstore. PaperCut money does not carry over from one semester to the next. All printing is subject to NPC Printing Policy (view policy here).
